Our deciduous bonsai mix consists of 60% Akadama (Golden Line) and 40% Lava Rock. This formulation provides the water retention needs of deciduous and flowering trees while allowing excess water to drain away. The added lava rock allows air to permeate into the pot and increase root fine production.

Imported from Ibuki (Poland) and supplied in 1 Litre bags, our deciduous bonsai mix is available in three graded grain sizes:

  • Small, graded for grain size of 3mm
  • Medium, graded for grain size of 5mm
  • Large, graded for grain size of 7mm

Our soils are now provided in biodegradable bags with a recycled paper label. Beechfield Bonsai aims to minimise our environmental impact throughout all areas of our business.
