This intermediate level course covers the basics of fertiliser make up and use in relation to bonsai. You will be taught by Nacho Salar, owner of BonsaiNara nursery in Malaga, Spain, providing you with the knowledge required to confidently know when and how to apply fertiliser, and how to devise a fertilisation strategy for your bonsai trees.
Taking place at the Beechfield Bonsai nursery, this course will start at 10:00 and end at 16:00 giving you a full day of bonsai learning. We will provide drinks, refreshments and a light lunch consisting of sandwiches but you are welcome to bring your own food if you prefer.
The course will be limited to six (6) attendees to enable you to get the most from the time spent with the instructor.
Part 1: Fertiliser and their characteristics
Covering the science of fertilisers, NPK make up, macro and micro nutrients and their impact upon a bonsai tree. Factors that impact the choice of what fertiliser to apply and when to apply them in order to achieve a desired outcome.
Part 2: Repotting of Coniferous Species
A hands on session covering the specifics of repotting a Juniper and a Pine bonsai tree, along with repotting aftercare.
You are advised to bring along your own bonsai tree for this repotting session, however we can provide trees to be used if you do not.
